Privacy Policy

• Account: if you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier, plus your name and email if you choose to share them (Apple lets you hide your email). If you sign up with email, we store your email address. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and we never see it.
• Profile (optional): profile photo, date of birth, country of residence and the languages you speak.
• Your travel data: your unlocked cities, the spots you've marked and your notes, saved to your account so they follow you from one phone to another. Some data, like your travel passport, stays only on your phone.
• Reviews: the rating and text you publish, shown with your first name and last initial. Our team checks reviews before they appear.
• Partner and advertising requests: the business name, contact details and photos you send us through these forms.
• Purchases: when you unlock a city, Apple handles the payment. We only receive a confirmation of the purchase, linked to your account. We never see your card details.
• City searches: when you search for a city we don't have yet, we record the search term, without linking it to your account, to help us choose which cities to add next.

• Location: only with your permission, to show the weather, the compass and the map, and to share your position when you ask. Your location is used on your phone and is not stored on our servers. To get the weather, approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo.
• Camera: used only by the scanner tool to read QR codes and barcodes. Images are processed on your phone and are never sent to us.
• Photos: we access your photo library only when you choose a photo to send (profile, partner or advertising request).

You can withdraw these permissions at any time in your phone's settings.

• To run the app: your account, your cities and your synced data.
• To show your reviews and to handle your partner or advertising requests.
• To reply when you contact us.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.
• To meet our legal obligations.

We don't use your data for targeted advertising and we don't build advertising profiles.

• Google Firebase: accounts, database and photo storage.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Store payments.
• RevenueCat: verification of in-app purchases.
• Open-Meteo: weather forecasts.
• ExchangeRate-API: currency exchange rates (no personal data is sent).
• Esri: map images in the map tool.

These providers only process data to provide their service to us.

We never sell your personal information. We only share it with the services listed above, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We keep your data as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: My Profile → Delete my account. This permanently erases your account, your profile, your photo and your synced data.

Reviews you've already published may stay visible under your first name and initial. Write to us and we'll remove them.

Depending on where you live (for example Quebec, Canada or the European Union), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your information. Write to us at the address below and we'll reply within 30 days.

SpotWyz is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your data travels over encrypted connections and is protected by access rules that only let you read your account. No system is perfect, but we work hard to protect your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
